STAGE 3: CONCEPT DESIGN
After an initial briefing on a project, it is imperative that we understand the site location, the demographic of the potential buyers (which may not always be the local market) and what the competition is offering. We do extensive research, gathering from a number of sources. Only when we feel we understand what a potential buyer will be looking for do we move into the Concept Design stage.
The concepts are a visual representation of our thoughts and a method of conveying those to the developer at the early stage. It is not a final design and some ideas may not make it past the cutting room floor, but by creating this mood board we have a reference to discuss with the client throughout the project. Sometimes a developer may use the concept board to show their investors. We will refer to this at each stage to make sure we have continuity throughout the project and we stay true to the on-going concept.
