INTERIOR DESIGN
BRENTCROSS, LONDON
We were commissioned by Related Argent to design a statement show home within The Delamarre, a key residential building in their major new development at Brent Cross, London.
Related Argent is redefining this corner of northwest London with a forward-thinking, net zero carbon neighbourhood centred around social connection, sustainability, wellness, and green living.
Although this was our first project with Related Argent as a client, we had previously collaborated with several team members. We pitched a concept that stood out for its bold, fresh approach — and our scheme was chosen for its originality and visual impact.
Design Brief & Concept
The target demographic for this apartment is design-conscious young couples who embrace London’s fast-paced lifestyle while also valuing community, green space, and wellbeing. With rapid Thameslink connections to central London, Brent Cross is especially appealing to commuters seeking a balance between urban energy and serene surroundings.
The apartment itself is spacious, with impressive 3m-high ceilings. While its size and volume provide a sense of luxury, the challenge was to avoid it feeling cold or empty when unfurnished. The client’s brief was clear: create a high-impact, welcoming home that emphasised both the generous proportions and a lived-in, warm atmosphere.
Design Approach
To meet the brief, we focused on strong visual elements and a clear sense of personality. We introduced statement pieces such as oversized headboards, bespoke artwork, and bold wallpapers and textiles. The design drew inspiration from the building’s art deco architecture, with subtle references to mid-century interiors.
Layered geometric shapes, rich colour contrasts, and nods to Cubism (inspired by Picasso and Braque) helped us create dynamic feature walls. For instance, we paired Cubist-inspired wallpaper with a striking bone inlay console table, creating an intentional clash of patterns. Artwork celebrating the Brent Cross community art trail, local landscapes, and iconic London scenes brought a strong sense of place into the apartment.
Zoning & Living Spaces
The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area was thoughtfully zoned to enhance functionality and flow, with clearly defined spaces for dining, entertaining, and relaxing. A bespoke bar area, colour-blocked in deep navy and finished with bronze metallic panels and integrated LED lighting, creates an intimate spot for hosting. Opposite, a fitted media wall set against tan woven wallpaper anchors the living space and adds visual depth, also featuring soft ambient lighting. A sculptural boucle sofa paired with ochre armchairs introduces texture and warmth, while a round dining table encourages sociable, flexible gatherings. Bespoke artwork framed by antique mirrors opposite the media unit adds a sense of balance and a striking focal point. Throughout, rechargeable table lamps and warm accent lighting create a layered, atmospheric feel from day to night.
Bedrooms
Each bedroom was thoughtfully designed to express its own character while remaining cohesive with the overall aesthetic. In the Primary Bedroom, a bespoke headboard upholstered in off-white boucle with an olive-green geometric pattern makes full use of the 3-metre ceilings, creating a dramatic focal point. The walls, painted in a warm putty pink to half height, add softness and balance. Bedroom Two features a full-width fluted headboard in dusky blue, set against rich tobacco-coloured walls — a bold contrast that exudes warmth and sophistication, enhanced by luxurious velvet textures. Bedroom Three, conceived as a flexible guest room and home office, includes a sculptural wave-shaped headboard that spans the full width of the wall, serving as both a design feature and a stylish backdrop for virtual meetings. A mid-century walnut writing desk brings a touch of refined functionality to the space.
This project was brought to life with the support of some exceptional suppliers whose craftsmanship and attention to detail were instrumental in achieving the final look. FT Upholstery delivered beautifully made bespoke beds that anchored each bedroom with both comfort and style. Wattrus provided expertly tailored window treatments that enhanced the softness and tone of every room, while ensuring light control and privacy. L A Kemble created custom joinery pieces that elevated the apartment’s functionality and aesthetic — from the sleek media wall to the striking bar area. Their collaborative approach and commitment to quality helped us realise a truly distinctive and refined show home.
Client Collaboration & Future Work
The Related Argent team were highly engaged throughout the process, providing thoughtful feedback and collaborating closely on the final design. The success of this show home has led to further opportunities — we’re now designing two additional apartments at The Delamarre and have built a strong working relationship with the team. We’re excited to continue shaping the future of Brent Cross with them.
