INTERIOR DESIGN
SOUTH KENSINGTON, LONDON
This private residence was commissioned by an Irish family and originally intended as a London base. The property is now being considered for sale or rental and is presented fully furnished to a turn-key standard, offering immediate appeal to buyers or tenants seeking a refined home in the capital.
When the clients first approached us, the project had already been in motion for some time. They had previously worked with another designer, but the collaboration hadn’t gone as planned, leaving the property unfinished and the family uncertain about how to move forward, and so that is when we were highly recommended by a previous client!
Once appointed, there was an immediate push to get things moving quickly. The project had been on hold for quite some time, so we adopted a phased installation approach, allowing us to begin furnishing the home almost immediately.
Our brief covered every aspect of the home’s interiors:
– Full FF&E design and procurement
– Bespoke joinery for a library unit
– Decoration specification
– Full lighting design
– Window treatments
– Complete turn-key setup – from kitchenware and bedding to board games, towels, and accessories
To keep things on schedule, all key items had to be in stock and ready to order. The phased approach meant essential furniture such as sofas and beds were installed first, allowing the family to begin using the property straight away. Decorative accents and Italian-made furniture with longer lead times were scheduled for later phases, ensuring a seamless and efficient delivery.
A highlight of the project was the bespoke joinery, including a beautifully designed library unit produced by Dal’Agenese. The clients had initially appointed another joiner but ultimately chose to move forward with our design after seeing our concept – a testament to the trust and collaborative spirit that developed throughout the process.
Working with a family spread across Ireland and Mexico required creative coordination. Most of our meetings took place over Zoom, and despite the distance, both our clients were deeply involved. With a strong design sensibility, they took the lead on much of the artwork selection. They introduced a Bauhaus-inspired aesthetic that brought a modern, playful energy to the scheme.
The design direction evolved from some of the clients’ initial Pinterest inspiration. Early concepts featured bolder colours, but as the project progressed, we refined the palette into something more neutral and timeless, ensuring the interiors would appeal broadly – ideal for either resale or rental.
All paint colours were sourced from Dulux, carefully chosen to tie the rooms together with warmth and subtle contrast. Most of the artwork was bespoke, adapted from pieces the clients admired but customised in tone and scale to complement the interiors perfectly.
After a challenging start with their previous designer, our goal was to make the final stages of the project as smooth and stress-free as possible. The result is a beautifully finished London home that balances quality, comfort, and understated elegance.
Whether the family decides to sell or rent, the fully furnished interiors now offer an inviting, ready-to-enjoy living space — one that reflects thoughtful design, collaboration, and attention to every last detail.
